First time in the snow

My name is Krystal Torres a NYU graduate student, that as a kid always tended to gravitate towards the creative side of things even though it wasn’t until my undergraduate studies that I realized that I was intended to be in the creative field. My way of thinking always surprised the people that were around me because of my honesty, my way of speaking and my views in social things were way different from what they would describe as the norm. Been described as the rebel of the family taught me that having an open mind can open the door to new opportunities, possibilities, and more knowledge.

As a Latina woman that just moved to the big city of New York, I would say that one of my dreams as a child has come true and it’s more realistic that I would realize. As a hopeless romantic I’ve glamorized and romanticized the city in ways that I’ve never thought possible but living the reality, as my rational would describe it, it’s not as bad as some people may say it is. Living in a place where there are endless possibilities for everything can be possible and it can be as big as you would dream it.

My goals are to expand my knowledge and create a space where I could write all my thoughts of the stories of the brands and their storylines if they have one. Nowadays, I’ve been into K-Pop which attracts my attention in their story lines and how they connect their music to a specific theme and how that is seen throughout their entire careers. More than their storylines, I want to learn about how they come up with them and what people prefer in the different parts of the world since they have a trend of depending on where they are, whether is Asia or the Western fans expect and prefer different type of content.

My understanding of digital marketing is the promotion of brands to connect with potential or current customers using the web and other forms of digital communication. It can be in different types of forms of videos, photos, ads and even search engines.

As for expectations for the course, my main point must be on how to integrate digital platforms into marketing plans to achieve the objectives for the campaigns since my only knowledge is on creating the content that goes into these platforms.
